The play is set on a deserted beach of a typical British seaside resort – an early evening in June. An elderly lady sits alone in her deck chair, deep in thought, when a young girl joins her. From the initial conversation, at times humerous, at times emotional, we could believe that the girl is a relative, or a family friend.
But things are not what they seem, as the older lady’s past and the reason for her being on the beach become clear.
Not Quite Sunset was presented at BCP’s Season Preview in Autumn 2008.
