Auditions: Our Country's Good
The Mill Arts Centre, Spiceball Park Rd, Banbury OX16 5QE, UK

AUDITIONS will take place on 18th July, 7.30pm, for three roles available in BCP’s re-scheduled production of Timberlake Wertenbaker’s powerful drama Our Country’s Good.  A play about real people and real events which premiered at The Royal Court in 1988 and won the Laurence Olivier Play of the Year.  It is a multi-layered piece which outlines the historical facts about the first transportees to Botany Bay in 1786.  There is a hierarchy.  There are abusers and victims.  It is sad and tender and painful.  It is also a story of hope and redemption.

Led by a Director with an absolute passion for the historic period in question and extensive knowledge of the actual settlement this promises to be an absorbing creative experience.

Auditions will consist of reading extracts from the play.  No preparation/learning of the script is required but it will be an ‘on your feet’ reading.

Auditions will take place in Adderbury.  Please contact Director, Chrissie Garrett at or 01295 810412 / 07557023144 for location.
