GOODBYE CHARLES
A Play in One Act by Gabriel Benjamin Davis
Jill is a woman forlorn, not only does her husband want a divorce, but Charles has gone missing too. She recounts her epic (and farcical) story to try and find him to her best friend, Barb – including suspicion, mystery, and outlandish cheese clubs in this quick-paced comedy.
Cast – 3 women, 2 men
Characters
Jill
Barb
Charles
David/Andre/Kennedy (one actor)
Violet/ Cynthia (one actor)
Most roles will have further non-speaking jobs and parts
Due to the quick pace and changing nature of scenes, auditions will take place as groups, workshopping a few select scenes (please see attached). However, I have also added one longer monologue section for people to explore (this is more for men as Jill and Barb have lots in other scenes).
We are intending to take this play to festivals at Lighthorne, Abingdon and Wallingford in June. (See link below). And also performing it at the BCP Season Preview event in September.
